This morning I received a message from Daniel, our Community Director in Kisharu. He sent me a picture of his daughter Sanapei and her first term report card. With straight A's and #1 in the class, Daniel and Agnes were so proud. And we were too.
Education and knowledge are precious tools. The opportunity to learn is one of the greatest gifts you can give in life. Yet for some, it is a gift that is just out of reach.
Agnes and Daniel see a future where all children in Kisharu are able to get an education. Where straight A's are a matter of strength and tenacity, rather than factors out of your control.
It's easy to forget the true value of education. Children like Sanapei, they understand education's value more than anyone. They'll do whatever it takes to not let the opportunity slip by. These are the kids that will change the world. These are the Sheryl Sanberg's and Elon Musk's of the future. Let's help them get there.
With $4,000 more in donations booked in the next couple weeks, we are only $2,500 short for Project L.I.F.E's first milestone, a geothermal condensation system. Not only will this generate fresh water when the school is constructed, the system will immediately begin to alleviate a longer-than-usual dry season that is causing water shortage in some parts of Kisharu We'll be able to bring irrigation back on track for certain agricultural zones.
Thank you for believing in us and continuing to support Kisharu's vision.
P.S. We have some great events coming up next month!
April 11th. 3PM to 5PM - We'll be at the Endicott College Entrepreneurship Expo.
April 20th. Spark Tank $15,000 Pitch Competition @ Endicott College. Time TBD.
Also if you're interested in climbing Mount Kenya with us this summer, send us a note! We're planning our first impact trip.
An awesome albeit blurry report card
